We won! Successful Sutton is delighted to confirm it has been awarded a prestigious 2016 British BIDs Award for its popular Sutton Buggy. The British BID Awards offer BIDs of all sizes the opportunity to promote an admirable project that they have delivered for their BID.
Every year, British BIDs invites Business Improvement Districts from across the UK to submit their chosen project as part of their Nationwide BID Survey response.
In 2016 over 50 BIDs put forward their best BID project of the year for consideration. The award category – Place Management, Small Location – was awarded to Successful Sutton for the outstanding contribution made to Sutton town centre by its unique Shopper Shuttle service. To reach the finals the Successful Sutton entry had to make it onto a long list, undergo a vetting process to reach a shortlist, and finally participate in a public vote, competing against BIDs in West Ealing and Manor Royal.
Successful Sutton chief executive, Ross Feeney, say’s
“I am delighted that our popular Shopper Shuttle has been nationally recognised for the invaluable service it provides for visitors to Sutton. Winning this award really means a lot to us. We work hard every day to provide a great service for Sutton, its local residents and our levy payers. Successful Sutton and the shuttle are funded by local businesses across Sutton town centre through our annual fee.
Our drivers, Junior and David, work hard all year round, in all weathers, and are extremely popular with passengers. I would like to thank everyone who voted for us and helped us win the award.
The completion amongst BIDS is fierce each year, and we were up against two great projects in West Ealing and Manor Royal – who deserve acknowledgement for the achievements”.
