Locally Sutton based jewellers, Warrenders are delighted to announce that for the third year they been asked to provide gifts for the winning connections of The Investec Derby Stakes at Epsom Downs Racecourse.
The family-run jewellery firm, which this year celebrates its 70th anniversary, were originally commissioned by Epsom Downs in 2015 to design and create a set of gifts that capture the heritage and essence of the racecourse and The Greatest Flat Race in the World.
Using Ordnance Survey data, Warrenders designed and crafted a striking set of cufflinks and brooches adorned with an intricate, scaled down landscape of the racecourse featuring every last hill and vale. Demonstrating their highly skilled craftsmanship, each piece is cast from silver and prepared by Warrenders’ resident goldsmith, Tony Wright before it is gilded, hallmarked and finished.
Richard Warrender of Warrenders Jewellers comments: “Being a local business for over 70 years, we have close connections to Epsom and were honoured to be approached with this unique commission. The remarkable cufflinks and brooches are a fantastic celebration of the renowned racecourse as well as British craftsmanship.”
Notable recipients of the covetable cufflinks and brooches created by Warrenders include the winning connections of the extraordinary Golden Horn, ridden by Frankie Dettori, including owner Anthony Oppenheimer of the De Beers family.
The prize pieces will once again be presented to the winning connections of this year’s Investec Derby on Saturday 3rd June at Epsom Downs Racecourse.
